Thank you. You know, sometimes we just go through bad things. And I'm just talking about coronavirus. I'm already talking about that. I'm just talking about sometimes bad things happen. You know? Maybe, you know, something breaks down in the house. You know? Maybe, you know, you got a big bill coming out. And you go, wow, where did that all come from? You know, maybe there's just, you know, something. Maybe somebody got sick. You know, there's things that happen in life. It happens all the time. What do we do? What do we do? Do we just sit up and, you know, crawl up in a ball and give up and quit? Or do we sit there and say, no, I'm going to pray. I'm going to believe. I'm going to trust God. Pray for deliverance. Let's read what the psalmist said. This is the psalm of David, of course. Psalm 43 says, judge me, O God. and plead my cause against thee, an ungodly nation. I look at those words of David and I think, wow. He was talking about an ungodly nation? Wow. We have ungodly nations. And I'm talking America, but I'm talking other nations all around the world. We're living in a world filled with nations that have turned their backs on God. Many nations around the world, many places around the world, it is illegal against the law of that land to worship God. Thankfully here in America we're not at that point. But there are nations that it is illegal. and people have to try to worship in secret because it is against the law. Now many people would say, well, that's not going to happen in America. That just can't happen in America. Well, I hate the verse to bubble, but unless God sends Jesus to call us home, I don't see it being very, very too far down the line that it could become illegal to worship God here in America. I can see it happening. Now, I pray it doesn't, but I'm saying the way we see things going on, it can happen. Because we are living in an ungodly nation. A nation that has completely turned its back on God. Now, there are several good Bible believers, more than several. But anyway, many good Bible believer people that do trust in God. But let's be honest, we used to be the majority. Now we are the minority of those in this nation. We're living in an ungodly nation. And David did as well. And he said, deliver, plead my cause, you know. Help me, God, against this ungodly nation. Deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man. I look at these words and I think these come down to three things. This is a three-fold statement. It means three different things. And I'm going to share them with you today. Deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man. Number one, it's a personal thing. Number two, it's a prophetic thing. And number three, it's a thing for right here and now. Okay? First, it was a personal thing. David was asking for deliverance from God from his son Absalom. Absalom was coming against David trying to take over the throne. So it was a personal thing. Number two is a prophetic thing In that someday Jesus is going to ask For deliverance for Israel From the Antichrist And will probably use These exact words And then number three It's for here and now Because we can use these words Right here and now God deliver us From the wicked people of this world Beautiful I love that. Verse 2 says, these words, For thou art the God of my strength. I love that. Thou art the God of my strength. Because strength does not come from physical characteristics. True strength comes from God Almighty. And that's the truth. when you look at one of the most probably the strongest man that ever lived it was Samson, right? And Samson had amazing strength but where did Samson's strength come from? Did it come from his muscles? Oh, I know I know where Samson's strength came from it came from his long hair, right? No No. So many people get that mixed up because they say, oh, well, see, Samson had long hair. And when Delilah had his hair cut off, then he lost his strength. So it had to come from his hair. It's not right. There was a commitment between him and God. And the commitment was, God, I am committed to you completely. And this will be a sign of my commitment. I will not ever, ever let a razor touch my head. That will be my sign of my commitment to you. Now people say, well, that's crazy. That's crazy. Is it any crazier than maybe wearing a cross? Or wearing a promise ring? Or something like that? Some physical thing that we do? It's not crazier than that, right? And we don't consider that crazy. But this was what Samson did. Samson showed his commitment to God. Now, why did the strength leave him? Because he turned his back on God. God said, I want you to follow me. And Samson had this desire to only do what he wanted to do. He was, oh hey, don't go beyond people that are against your religion, that don't believe the way you do, they're going to lead you astray. And he fell in love with Delilah and he said, hey, I'm going to do this, I'm going to reject God, I'm going to go do what I want to do. And whenever we do that, what happens? We find ourselves far away from God. Now, Delilah, after prodding and pleading and begging and crying and everything, finally heard the truth. Cut my hair. It will break my commitment to God. And thus, I will be his moral man. He fell asleep. She prodded the people. Shaved his head. Woke him up. God, what does the Bible say? It says, God had left him. because you got to understand God doesn leave us we leave Him Now God holds back once we leave Him but God will not leave you unless you turn your back on Him And that's exactly what happened. Physical strength does not mean anything. It is a spiritual strength that means everything. And that's what He's saying here, for thou art the God of my strength. You are where my strength lies. I love that. Then he says, why dost thou cast me off? Interesting. David asks God here, why have you cast me off? Does God cast us off? No. So why does David ask this? I think it's out of frustration. It's frustration. You ever get frustrated? I think we all got frustrated before. You go through your daily experience. You go through your daily walk. Something comes in. Something goes wrong. Your daily, you know, relationship to God goes kind of, you know, something goes wrong. You just sit there and you go, ah, why? You ever ask God why? I think we all do. I've done it. Why, God, why? it's typical. It's human nature to ask God why. Why is this happening, God? What have I done and I deserve this? You know? And I think that's what David is more trying to say here. He doesn't use that term, but I think that's what he's trying to say. Why is this happening to me? And I love what he says here. Why do I mourn because of the oppression of the enemy? That's one for the theologians, right? Why do Christians mourn when things go bad? We do it all the time. If it's not a Christian, it doesn't do it. Right? We all do it, every single one of us. The first thing to do when things go bad is to mourn. Sit there and go, you know. Start crying and pleading and begging and saying, why, God, why is this happening? You think of Job, and Job is the example. I really think there is, right there you see two examples of Christians. Job and Job's life. That's the two examples of the two types of Christians when troubles come. Most of us, sadly, are like Job's wife. Troubles hit us, we hit the ground. And we start going, see, I'm taught, why, God, why are you doing this to us? That's sadly how most of us do it. That's our first inkling, is to sit there and say, why God are you doing this to us? But God doesn't do it to us. God does not bring evil. I love what it says in God's Word, leave a career for yourself. It's really interesting. You know, Jesus tried to explain. He said, a good father is not going to give back to his kid. right? And that was what Jesus was trying to bring forth. He was trying to let people understand if a good father's not going to give bad stuff to his kid, what makes you think God, the father, is going to bring bad stuff on his children? He's not. So why did Job go through all this bad stuff? It was a testing of God, of Satan, to see if Job's commitment to God was going to stand true. You go and you read it. It's amazing when you read the story. Satan comes to die. See, so often we think of Satan. Satan's here and God's here and never the twain shall eat. That's not true. Not according to what it says. Satan came to God. And God said to Satan, what you've been up to. This is Jason's paraphrase word. But that's what God said God said, what you been up to? I've been going through the road throughout the years I've been going to see what's going on Oh, okay Have you seen Job? You've seen Job? Man, ain't nobody like Job in the whole world God had to pride him on Job Just a little bit And Satan always being one step ahead Just one always got a smart remark You know He sat there and said, well, you know what? God, he ought to because you've done everything for him. Look at him. You gave him wealth. You gave him health. You gave him fun, money. You gave him houses. You gave him land. He's got everything there is to give to a man. So why wouldn't he trust you? Why wouldn't he love you? God knew that Job's commitment to him was much deeper than what he had been given. He said, hey, you think that's where Job's love lies? Take it off from him. See what happens. But I love what God said to Satan. He said, everything is in his hands. Just don't touch his life. Because see, God may let Satan test you. But God ain't going to let Satan destroy you. Hallelujah. He's not going to let Satan destroy you. That's what happened. So Satan comes in like a flood and wipes off everything out of Job's life. Everything out of Job's life. He took his houses, he took his land, he took his family, he took his health, he took everything he had. And when we find Job, we find Job sitting on the asphalt with a piece of pottery, screaming his boils because he's in torment. And you can't get much more destitute than that. Think about it. He's on a garbage pile with a piece of pilering scraping his back and his arms and his chest because he's itching to death. You can't get much more lower than that. Job's wife is the second version of this. She has seen all of this and she goes to Job and she says, Job, God has forsaken us. It's time to curse God and die. What's Job's response? Job's response is, hey, we expect to get all good and no bad. Things are going to happen in life. And I love what it says about Job. And all the troubles and trials and the tribulations that have gone on in Job's life. What does it say? They said, in all this, Job either charged God foolishly. He didn't sit there and say, thank God, why did you do this? He didn't do that. So that's the two responses of Christians. We can have the response of this is a test, and when I am tried, I'll come forth as gold. Or we can have the response of, well, God's forsaken me, I'm going to just curse God and die. Now, hopefully we'll be the first instead of the last. I mean but that true See David saying here why do I mourn him because of the oppression of the enemy We do it because sometimes we just don put our trust in God I love what it says in verse 3. It says, Oh, send out the light and thy truth. What does it say? You shall know the truth, and the truth shall what? Set you free. Hallelujah. it's going to set you free the truth is going to set you free hallelujah but this world that we live in we don't we don't like the light right they don't like the light they don't want the truth they don't want to believe the truth why don't we want to see the light well the bible says men like darkness rather than light because of what Because their deeds are evil. They're evil. We're living in an evil world. And people's deeds are evil. That's why they don't want to hear what's in this book. Because it will shine a light. And it'll make them realize they're wrong. And if they don't hear it, they don't have to believe it. You ever wonder why we're having so much going on? We're trying to eliminate God's word from this world. is because if we don't have to see it, if we don't have to hear it, when we don't have to believe it, and we can live the way we want to live, but that does not mean that someday you're not going to give an account for it. And that's the truth. The truth will make you free. But if you don't accept the light of the truth and you live in darkness, you're in trouble. That's what it comes down to. I love what David says here. He says, let them lead me. The Holy Scriptures will lead us into all truth. Verse 4 says, then I will go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy. I love that. My exceeding joy. See, the way we come to church Is going to predicate the way we leave church Now people sit there and say Wait a minute What are you talking about? Shouldn't I go away better than I came? Well yeah you should But what I'm saying is this. If we come expecting something from God, we're going to go away with something from God. And if we come to church going, we've got to go to church today. We're going to go away miserable. We became miserable because I didn't want to go. I got to go because somebody was driving me to church. You know? I remember somebody said this. This is so funny. Somebody said, I had a drug problem as a kid. I was drunk at church. That's about it. Anybody had a drug problem when they kept going to church, I'd have to be drunk at church. There were a couple times I didn't want to go to church. I'll be honest with you. I didn't want to go to church. And my dad said to me, it was a Sunday morning several times. And I sat there and said, I just don't feel like going on. And he said, well, I tell you what. Are you sick? You got a temperature? Check his temperature. You don't got no temperature? Check his stuff. You got nothing like that? Okay. Get dressed. And I was like, but I don't feel good. I don't care. And I said, but I don't want to go. I don't care. He said, you've got a half an hour to get dressed. If you don't get dressed in that half an hour, then I'm taking you by the name of the neck at the seat of the pants, and I will take you over to church, and you won't sit there in your pajamas. Now, that is the choice you have. So, just what happened? I got dressed. because there was no label going in my Superman pajamas. I said that. No, wait, uh-uh. But, I mean, that's true, man. That's true. I think we've all been there. But, see, that's the point. The way we come to church is going to predicate the way we leave. If we come expecting, we are going to receive. And if we come rejecting and just saying, I don't want to be there, then we're going to go away miserable. And that's the point. I love what he says here in verse 4. He says, Yea, upon the heart will I praise Thee, O God, my God. I love that. Something we are missing in this generation is true praise of God. True praise of God. because so often what it is is we only can praise God if it's a certain type of thing. What I'm saying is unless we see a huge humongous choir singing or some fancy musical arrangements or maybe a special group that's coming in to sing, Oh well then we can praise God We can clap our hands We can stomp our feet We can say hallelujah praise the Lord We can do all that If it fits our means But if it's just the fact that I'm sitting in church Oh I can't praise God for that It's not about special things It's about the joy of the Lord Being deep down inside See if you're only able to praise God If you hear a fancy group coming Or a special fancy arrangement Or stuff like that That's not real joy It's not real joy Real joy is something that is deep down inside And it doesn't have to be certain things That brings it out It's a thing that bubbles over I'll do something here that's really, really cool. You probably remember doing this as a kid. Probably all remember doing this as a kid, right? You had a mom bring you milk, right? There's your milk. Drink your milk. I've done this before. I ain't drink that milk. I ain't going to drink that milk. Why? Want a straw. Okay. Here, here's a straw. And I take that straw. What would you do with your milk? With a straw. Start rolling in that straw, right? And the bubbles would come up and you'd sit there and go, yes. It was the coolest thing in the world, man. I was like, yes. And then the bubbles would go everywhere and you'd just kick off. You know? And suck all the bubbles off, right? You know, it was the coolest thing in the world. That's the way our joy should be. It should not be predicated on certain things. It should be a thing that's bubbling over inside of us. And it doesn't have to be certain things to do it. It could just be walking in the dark and hearing somebody say, I've been blessed by God today. And you sit on the other side and say, well, hallelujah, I've been blessed by God today too. You know? And it's just that joy that bubbles over. It shouldn be about certain things that make it that we have to get joy that way the joy of the Lord should just bubble over inside of us everywhere we go You shouldn have to be in certain meetings to have a blessing of God to have that joy of the Lord. You should be able to have the joy of the Lord when you're out sitting on the mower, riding the lawnmower. You can have the joy of the Lord doing that. You can have the joy of the Lord while you're vacuuming the carpets. You can have the joy of the Lord while you're washing the dishes. You can have the joy of the Lord while you're just sitting there reading God's Word. And that's where you're going to have joy of the Lord. Amen? But that's the point. You should have the joy of the Lord no matter what you're doing. It shouldn't be just because I've got to have a certain way to be joy of the Lord. Right? That's not the way it is. I love what he says here. In verse 5 he says, Why art thou cast down on my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Even in the darkest of times, we can have the joy in our heart. Knowing that God is in control. We talked about Job, and the point is this. Job saw the worst of times, yet he never changed and charged God. His feelings was, God will get me through this storm. I love it. yesterday during my radio show I played a beautiful song for a dear lady and many people that are going through troubles. Betty Jean Robinson, ride out your storm. And that's the point. Sometimes we go through trials and storms and the storm is raging and the wind is blowing and it seems like we are just completely destroyed and we're not going to be able to get out of this storm. But what do you do? You grab hold of God's hand and you're right out of that storm. You don't let that storm destroy you. You hold on to God's hand and you say, God, get me through this trial. Get me through this storm. And you know what's going to happen? God's going to get you through it. He's not going to leave you. He's going to get you through it. And that's the point. I love that. The psalmist wrote, David wrote finally, he said, hope in God. Well, why should we hope in God? Because that's the only thing we can hope in. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but I wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ the solid rock I stand. All other ground is what? Sinking sand. And that's the point. That's the point. I hope in God. For I shall yet praise Him, who is health of my countenance and my God. The idea today is deliverance. Are you going through trials? Are you going through tribulations? Are there things in your life that are keeping you from maybe not quite getting where you need to be? Are you happy when those trials come and those tribulations come? Do you sit there and you go, Lord, what am I going to do? Or do you sit there and say, Lord, you're going to get me through? Think about it. And we'll say that again. When trials and tribulations come, do you look up to God and say, Lord, what am I going to do? Or do you say, Lord, you're going to get me through? What do you say? And that's the point. God will bring you deliverance if you put your trust in Him. I want you to think about that As we bow our heads and close our eyes this morning I want you to look into your heart I want you to look into your life I want you to see that this morning Do you trust in God totally? When those trials and tribulations Begin to rage And it seems like almost A hopeless end Do you trust in God? Or do you sit there and say, I don't know what to do, God. Would you be honest to God today if you are one that's having trouble with these trials? Would you be honest to God and say, God, I need you to help me. That I will not look at things as the hopeless end, but I will look at them as an endless hope. Would you raise up the hand of God today And say God I need you today Hand going up Another hand All over the place Hallelujah Hands going up everywhere God I need you Maybe you're watching the video this morning Or this afternoon Some other time Whenever you're watching it And you're sitting here and you're saying I need that as well I want you to raise your hand up Wherever you're at as well No matter if you're sitting amongst your family Friends, co-workers Whatever, it doesn't matter But if you need the help of God, raise up your hand. God, see your hand right where you're at. Father God, you saw the hands of these people growing up today saying, God, I need that help. I need help in my trials. I need help when things seem hopeless. I need help. Father God, I pray right now you will open the windows of heaven right now, Father God. You will pour down upon those people that raised up their hand the blessing of God down upon them that they will feel the joy of the Lord, which is their strength, that they will know beyond the shadow of the doubt of God, that when trials come, it's not about a hopeless end, it's about an endless hope, that you will get us where we need to be. We can ride out the storm with you, with our hand in yours. You will get us through this trial, this tribulation, whatever we go through. Father God, strengthen them right now with the God of blessing, all inside of them, all over them, from the top of their heads and the soles of their feet. May they have that all in them right now. I pray that right now in Jesus' name. I thank God for it right now in Jesus' name. And Father God, may when Satan comes in like a flood, Father, may we raise up that standard against them. May we not be defeated. May we be the head and not the tail. may we be overcomers because of you I pray that right now in Jesus name Father God I thank you for each and everyone that came out today Father God I thank you for each and everyone that watched the video Father I pray Father God the blessing of God of God on each and everyone and now Father as we dismiss we ask that you not dismiss us but Father that you will go with us you will keep us safe and Father you will bring us back safe into your house that we may worship you yet again. And Father, for all that you are, for all that you do, we give you praise and honor and glory for everything. For it's truly in Jesus' name, we beg these blessings. And we say a hearty amen and amen. Thank you. Thank you.
