Hey everyone, welcome to this treasure hunters report. We're on the hunt, we've been on the hunt once again and look at that stack. Okay, cool stuff from our recent purchases at Goodwill and we're going to check out the treasures we found. Good media is still out there. It really is. And it's for cheap if you can do it because everybody's trying to go streaming now. And streaming is cool. Don't get me wrong. I got a lot of digital movies myself and I enjoy them, but it's nothing like the physical media. It really isn't. And you can get it very cheap anymore. So all these are Goodwill releases or Goodwill finds and about $2 a piece. So not bad. Let's jump right into it. First off, we got a couple kaijus. Who doesn't love a good kaiju? For those of you who don't know, kaiju is a Japanese term for monster movie, basically. That's what a monster is, kaiju. But anyway, this is pretty cool. The Godzilla King of the Monsters, the new film, just came out last month, so it's been in theaters for a little less than a month. This is the original Godzilla King of the Monsters. This is the one, the American cut. It was originally a Japanese film and then they took the Japanese actors, the film cut it together with American actor Raymond Burr as Steve Martin. Yeah, Steve Martin. And made a American release out of Godzilla King of the Monsters. And this is that release. very, very cool. And this is an old DVD, a very old DVD. You know why I say it's an old DVD? If you look on the back, there is a thing on the back that says, available also on VHS. Yeah. And yes, VHS tapes are making a little bit of a nostalgic return, but it's just very, very niche, very, very small, but they are coming back a little bit, but yeah, we got Godzilla, the original Godzilla King of the Monsters, the American cut, yeah, very cool, love that. Also a Kaiju, this one was released in 67, I believe, in Japan, it was called by the American title, um, King Kong's Counter-Attack, and, uh, yeah, so this is the release here on DVD, King Kong Escapes uh very cool release I actually watched this one this is uh you know campy it campy but it but it kind of cool I I enjoyed this uh for what it was It was campy but very very cool So yeah another kaiju Love it love it love it love it Alright, let's jump from the kaiju to the animation. This one is, we've been kind of getting back into the animation thing since I've picked up Shrek 2 for only $1.25. I've been getting back into my animation collection again. And we have recently collected all of Shrek on Blu-ray and DVD. So that was pretty cool. And did that for very, very cheap. So that was awesome. But this was one that was only $2. And I was like, eh, let's go ahead and do it. Shark Tale. This has an amazing, amazing cast of voice characters. Will Smith, Robert De Niro, Renee Zellweger, Angelina Jolie, Jack Black, and the great Martin Scorsese. Very, very cool. I haven't seen this in forever, so I've got to re-watch this again. So I watched it when it was on TV once, and yeah. So it's been a long time, so now we're going to re-watch Shark Tale again sometime down the line. Very cool. All right. Another release at Goodwill. I'm a big X-Files fan. If you went to my shelf, you'd see I've got a big collection of X-Files. I don't have all the seasons yet. We're getting there. But we don't have all the seasons yet. I think we're up to season six, I believe. I think I've got up to season six, if I'm not mistaken. And I've got the two movies and all, but I just haven't completed the entire series yet. We'll get there eventually. but this one is a film where David Duchovny kind of spoofed that character, Fox Mulder, a little bit in this one. And it's really kind of cute. It's really kind of funny. This one is entitled Evolution. Just watch this when we pick this one up, and it's not bad. It's not X-Files. It's not Duchovny's greatest role as Fox Mulder, let's be honest here. but it's kind of cute to see Duchovny kind of making fun of that character a little bit. It's kind of unique and kind of cute. Kind of a fun little film. So yeah, Evolution added to the classic cinema library. I saw this on Blu-ray DVD combo pack at Big Lots for $2.50. and I was like, I've never seen it, let me hold off. So I held off on it and after I went home, I thought, you know, $2.50 for Blu-ray DVDs, not that bad. So I went back and to pick it up, gone. Oh no what am I gonna do Well wait till you get to Goodwill Yes it not a Blu but here it is Jupiter Ascending on DVD only So, you know, that's not bad. Yeah, it's not Blu-ray, but that's okay. For, you know, 50 cents less, I'll take this. It's perfectly fine. But, yeah, this also comes with the digital copy, so that's pretty cool. So, yeah, looking forward to checking out Jupiter Ascending. I haven't actually seen this one, so I'm looking forward to checking it out. The trailer looks absolutely amazing. Special Flex looks great. So, story sounds kind of cool. So, we'll see. We'll see how it actually comes out. Jupiter Ascending. Love Channing Tatum, too. So, that's pretty cool. Added to the Classic Cinema Archive. All right. This one was brand new. Absolutely brand new. Still sealed in the packaging. The whole nine yards. I haven't seen this. This is going to be great for Halloween time. This is The Grudge. Yeah, I have never seen this one. I've seen The Ring, and I've seen some of the American remakes of some of the Japanese horror films. But The Grudge was not one of them that I have seen. So, yeah, I'm looking forward to checking out The Grudge. This is with Sarah Michelle Gellar. There we go. I didn't want to come out right. But this is the grudge. Yeah, this was brand new, sealed. I couldn't believe this, and it was only $2. So yeah, we got that for $2. Brand new. Unbelievable. So yeah, very cool find the grudge. All right, final one that we've got at our Goodwill here was, I couldn't believe I didn't even have this. I was thinking about it and looked it up and realized, I don't have this in my collection. This is unbelievable. and it was there for $2 and it was only, it's digitally restored and remastered. I was like, you've got to be kidding me, $2. It is a classic for Halloween time as well. Poltergeist, you've got to be kidding me. You don't have that in your collection? Well, I do now. Yeah, but yeah, I was a little shocked when I was looking through my stuff and I thought, I don't have that? Yeah, so, yeah, when I saw it for $2, I was like, I gotta get that. Very, very cool release, you know, and who doesn't love Poltergeist? I mean, that's a pretty classic horror film, kind of new horror, new classic, if you will. It's not a classic, classic like Vincent Price films or Night of the Living Dead or some of those old classic horror films, Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy. It's not that classic, but it's what I call new classic. So this is Poltergeist on the collection now. Very cool stuff. So yeah we got some pretty cool stuff here recently and looking forward to this week because as we recording this they are set to have their 50 off sale at Goodwill coming up this week so hopefully, fingers crossed, we're going to get a boatload of cool stuff. That's one of those things where it's just you got to go and try it out. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. We'll see. We'll see what it's going to look like when we get there. this week. But we've done pretty good so far for quite a while. We've been picking up some cool stuff. All right.
