Hey guys, welcome once again to the Treasure Hunters Report. This is Pastor Jay here with you. This week, it's been our typical week, we go to the Goodwill and kind of check out some of the stuff, the new stuff they bring in. And, you know, we went Monday and had a pretty good chunk of stuff there. So we decided, let's go back and just check. The day we're recording this is Wednesday and we went back today and found more awesome stuff. So we're going to dive right into it because there's a lot of stuff we want to get to. First off, Something that I've always loved is The Adventures of Mr. Bean. And a few years ago, actually a few, about a year ago, I guess it was, or something, we actually found this at Mr. Bean's holiday. And so I actually had this on DVD, and I was like, wow, I love that. but there was a previous Bean film, and I never got it, and I was going to buy it on Amazon, but it's a little more expensive than I wanted to pay, and I was like, I don't want to pay that. And lo and behold, today comes Bean on DVD through The Goodwill, and it was only $2. dollars now the interesting thing about this is this collection here this this movie here is a very interesting thing on it it's in full-screen format and it is presented in according to what this says in matted widescreen format now I didn't notice that until I picked it up and do a little check found out what matted widescreen format is and it is a pan and scan version of this film to fit widescreen TVs. Not sure how I'm going to feel about that. We'll take a look at it and see what it looks like but I am glad I got this anyway. This is Bean so now I have not only Bean but I have Mr. Bean's Holiday. So I got both of the Bean films on DVD. Now all I got to do is get the Mr. Bean TV series. I know everybody goes, you don't have the Mr. Bean TV series? No. Because I wait to get them on sale. So not seen them yet, but they'll probably be there soon and maybe hopefully if all things work. Like, oh, you know, the stars align and all that type of stuff. We'll be able to get Bean on the whole TV series. But while I wait, I'm glad to have these two. This is Bean and Mr. Bean's Holiday. So that's pretty cool. So I can still enjoy Mr. Bean. Something that I remember watching on TV many, many, many, many, many years ago and never had it on DVD, but it was there today, and it was only, it was less than $2. All these are less than $2. They were like $1.97. So this is one that I watched off of TV and I don know how if there a lot of bad profanity in it or anything I don know I never seen it in this format I seen it in edited versions so we see how it works out But it is Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi in Blues Brothers. I like it. The Blues Brothers. Okay, so I saw this and it was like two bucks and I was like, eh, I'm not going to complain. and I'm not going to, you know, I'll give it a shot, see what it looks like. It actually looks really, really good, as you can see. It does not, I mean, it looks like it's never even been really played. So this is almost brand new, it looks like to me, and it was less than $2, so pretty cool. Another one, another couple that I've never, actually, I've watched them off the TV, haven't watched them, And sometimes with the TV edits, they're not as dirty and not as profanity-laden. So I saw these many, many years ago. I haven't seen them for quite a while and never saw them on DVD. So I don't know how, you know, bad they are. But we'll check it out. It is Austin Powers 1 and 2. These are the first two Austin Powers films. so I have those in the collection now as well $2 a piece, not too bad, not complaining something that I've always wanted to check out and I know some of you are going to see this and you're going to say, you've never seen this film? and I have to fully disclose, no, I have never seen this film this is unbelievable, but I've got it now and I can watch it and check it out, always wanted to see it, always wanted to but just it was on TV, never got a chance to, too busy doing other things. Sometimes you'd go to the library. That's what we used to do was go to the library, rent videos and stuff. And I don't remember ever seeing this one, and if it was, I wanted something else or something. So I never really got around to watching it. But it was less than $2, and it's in a snapper case. Now, the snapper cases are really kind of interesting. I've kind of got a love for snapper cases. I don't know why, but they are kind of cool. And this is, now get this, the never-ending story. I have never seen this. I know. I know, everybody. This is crazy. I've never seen this film. This is unbelievable. But now here it is in the collection, in the classic cinema magazine collection. And here it is, the never-ending story. And it's in snapper case. I love these snapper cases. These are really kind of cool. See that? I love that. Really, really kind of cool. I love that snapper case. I don't know. I know it's strange. But I do. I like those snapper cases. So anyway, but yeah, only $2. Now I can check out the NeverEnding Story. We'll see. It looks really cool. So we'll see whether I like it, whether it holds up or not. something else that was at the Goodwill here that I've got to be honest with you, I've never seen but it's part of a series of short films made by the producers of Focus on the Family it's a Christian organization and this is one that I was really interested in Last Chance Detectives DVD Okay this is one of the Last Chance Detectives films This is the mystery lights of Navajo Mesa This really has a very interesting little synopsis to it And it's about this ancient radio begins to broadcast voices and things begin to disappear and lights begin to light up in the sky. and all kinds of weird things are beginning to happen. And the last chance detectives, this group of young teenagers, are, I guess, the town's only hope between them and finding out what the mystery is. So I don't know. It's going to be interesting. Very, very kind of cool, though, from Focus on the Family. I'm looking forward to checking this out. Yes, it's for children. It's for young people. but I don't mind that. So it's going to be interesting to see what Last Chance Detectives Mystery Lights of Navajo Mesa is all about. I'm looking forward to checking that out. Yeah, so only $2. Now, I kind of saved the best deals for the last. Also, very interesting. At our Goodwill, TV series and seasons and multi-packs are usually $3. Single sets are $1 and multi-sets are $3. So this shocked me when the lady rang these up and these came out only as $2 as well. Yeah, I wasn't in her mind. Many of you may remember Maybe you were a kid Or a teenager Or an adult maybe During that time of television That was called TGIF You remember that? You remember TGIF? That was a really awesome time Of television Just filled with all kinds of great Family friendly TV shows Well one of my favorites at that time Was Full House And for me, I kind of still have a nostalgic feel about Full House sometimes. So I bought a couple seasons of Full House, season one and season two. But something that bothers me is to have season one, season two, season three, and then skip and then have like the final season or something. That bothers me. But this was something I couldn't pass up. This is Full House, the complete eighth and final season, $2. $2. Now, the interesting thing about this is the DVD, as you can see here, has a little bit of wear on the outer case. But if you look at these, and believe me, I've checked them out here. these discs here are absolutely spotless. They don't even look like they've even been used. So I don't know if somebody just threw this on their shelf and never just threw it on the shelf and it got kind of a little dinged up. But these discs don't even look like they've ever been even used. So yeah, I know that bothers me. Now I got season one and season two in the final season. Now I'm going to have to pick up season 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Someday But anyway in the meantime I have season 1 and 2 and the final season Okay But yeah it was only so I had to pick it up Finally the one that I wanted to save to last was one that I have actually never seen and I was really excited about this. I was shocked when this was at Goodwill. It's from executive producer Steven Spielberg. It's a TV series that I never got a chance to check out. Now, full disclosure, I have never seen this. I never got a chance to check it out. So I don't know how good it is. I don't know if it's really good. I have read some people's comments about it, how that it was not too good or whatever. But this was only $2, less than $2, to be honest with you. And I couldn't pass this up. It's the complete first season on Blu-ray, get ready, of Falling Skies. See that? It's a little hard to see there, but it is Falling Skies. Now, maybe this will look a little better. The case, the outer case doesn't want to clear, want to show up too much. But anyway, this is Falling Skies. It's Blu-ray. See that? Two Blu-ray discs. And they look like they've never been touched. I mean, they look unbelievable. They also came with this, the digital copy. Unbelievable. So the digital copy of the first season plus the Blu-ray copy, all for $2? Yeah, how can you complain about that? You can't rant. this for that. People are moving to digital so much that physical media is becoming a lost art. And I'm telling you, because everybody's moving to digital media, this type of media here is becoming lost. And people are just trying to get rid of it. So you can get a lot of stuff like this, like the whole seasons of TV shows for sometimes next to nothing. Like I said, who would have ever thought you could have got Falling Skies, the complete first season for only $2, and it comes with a digital copy? Wow. Unbelievable. So, yeah, get out to your Goodwills, to your pawn shops, to the different places, and check out some of those treasures. You never know. We're not going to be, you know, Harrison Ford. We're not going to go out and search for the Ark of the Covenant, but we can get some great treasures of great films and great media. So get out and get some of those treasures.
