BrowderdayBaptistChurch.com This is Reverend Fred Proctor Sr., the pastor, and it's time. We've got about a minute, minute and a half, but it's time for our Sunday morning worship service, the sermon. We are so glad that you are here. You'll notice right under the green where you see me and then the green where it says Browderday Baptist Church. You will see we are glad that you are here, and we are. Also, I want you to look up into the, right up here where I'm pointing, that is my great-grandson, one of my great-grandsons, Lincoln. I've renamed him the Sunshine Boy. Anyway, his picture is prominently displayed back here. Wherever time that I walk by, I see that Lincoln, and he's laughing. And it reminds me, and I hope it reminds you, we have a lot to be thankful for. Let's not go around with the pooch mouth, as old preachers called it. well mad at the world and mad at everything and but we have so much to thank God far we were able to get up this morning we're able to be here to have church and we're glad that you are here that's that's one of our slogans We're glad that you are here. And thanks to one of our grandsons, we have remote control on this big circle out up here. And I can control it. It's hard to get everything exactly right. But we're here. And we have prayer requests. We always pray, pray for people. And coming up in the next, probably in the next day or maybe tonight, I have a report. I haven't opened it yet, but it was sent to me by email about Christians that are persecuted around the world. and there are many countries that hate religion and they certainly hate Christians. I was amazed or shocked. I want to pass this along to you because I have had in my heart a real warm spot for the Christians in mainland China. That's communist China. The Chinese Communist Party is constantly tearing down churches, arresting Christians, sending them off, what they call, it's a relearning, no, it's a concentration camps. That's all that it is. And the Chinese Communist Party knows that they know this. But I was shocked and amazed, and I want to pass this along to you, that in eight years from now, things go as they're going. It's estimated that there will be at least 250 million Christians in communist China. 250 million Christians in communist China. that's more than any other nation on the face of the earth thank God for the Christians in mainland or communist China let's pray for them at a special prayer request for Christians in Iran for a pastor had just received word to report to prison to serve a 10-year prison sentence because he was practicing christianity he was 66 years of age his wife was 65 and she received a message to report to prison for six years because she was practicing christianity you see what i'm saying there are many many nations that despise and hate christianity they know there's power people who are born again Christians have power with God and they are very afraid of Christians just like they were during the time of Christ and afterward there at Pentecost and and the disciples and the Apostles and Apostle Paul they were afraid organized religion and that's all that it was nothing to it but they did rule that the Sanhedrin ruled but they were afraid of Christians as a matter of fact right there in the first part of Acts some of the disciples were were beaten and the leader said we told you not to preach not to ever preach in his name the name of Jesus again and said look here what you've done they said you have turned the world upside down well praise God I pray that we here in America we that are born again Christians can turn the world upside down again we have the full power of God in us if we want it and if we will yield ourselves unto him and seek after him and seek his face and his wisdom and his power there is no limit to what we can do I will just take ten seconds there's a lot that's wrong in America there's a lot that's wrong and Christianity is being called out you you know, and hated. They say, well, you're not tolerant and you discriminate against people. No, we don't. We preach the word. We preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The gospel, the good news. And when a person accepts the gospel and converts and truly asks Jesus to come into their life, then they're a changed person. and the things they used to like, they now hate, and the things they used to hate, they now love. And you see, the world, or the people, the leaders of the world, and those that, you know, always stirring up something, they know this. They know that Christians have power. So please pray. Pray for our churches in America. I try to always let you know that we are a conservative Southern Baptist church. We are a virtual church. That means we have everything that a normal church has, but we don't have a church building. We meet right here in this studio or up in Pennsylvania in the studio where Preacher Eric, our son, one of our sons, Preacher Eric Proctor preaches. He'll be on later today, I think. but we have everything here basically that as a matter of fact you can go to I don't know what you're watching this on we go out on many many channels I think about 50 50 to 100 but if you go to brighterdaybaptistchurch.com and go in the doors you will be amazed and shocked so So please pray that we will continue to put out the gospel of Jesus Christ, that God loves you. God loves you. Let me just share this with you. I knew this, but in our lives, we are seemingly constantly relearning things that we knew or might have let them slip a little or forgotten. But I can stand here and call the devil every kind of rotten thing that he is. He's a snake. I'd never trust a snake. He's a liar and the father of liars. He hates you. The Bible says that Satan, as Satan the devil, Lucifer, goes about up and down the land as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. And we call him that. We call him out. And he don't like it. But I'm going to tell you something. the thing that he really dislikes. And I feel it. If you're witnessing for Christ, you're preaching or teaching, or just serving Christ in any way, and you are lifting up the Lord Jesus Christ, Satan, the devil, gets very upset about it. Yeah, you can call him everything in the world. and he would just tell people I don't pay any attention to those Christians they're crazy but he cannot handle it when we speak the truth about Jesus that Jesus defeated Satan on the cross when he said it is finished it was finished Satan was defeated and his demise is that he will be thrown into the lake of fire bound with chains and fetters and will be there forever and ever and ever He is lost, and he knows it. So don't be surprised when you begin to magnify the name of Jesus. understand that Satan is going to fight just like he does in communist China and Iran and Indonesia and a lot of other places. All right. So now special prayer objects, Melvin Johnson, Judy Johnson and all their family have a special. Melvin has a problem with his legs and haven't determined what it is. And Randy Kent and his wife, Shane, Randy had a stroke about four months ago, I think. And he's having, of course, problems that didn't paralyze him. And it just his present memory from the time he had the stroke forward that affected that everything back before that is normal. But please continue to pray for Randy Kent, Shane Kent, and all the family, and Sammy Kent. That's Randy's brother. They just buried their mother this week, Wednesday. It's Wednesday. Agnes Kent, 97, I think. She was a godly woman. She sang. We have her singing at the church site, and I think in Twitter, maybe in YouTube, several other places. She sang about Jesus until she died. So remember and pray for these folks. My brother Travis Proctor, he's been on our prayer list. I think he is recuperating. He had some problems with his heart. I don't know what the final prognosis was. but he's back out with the hiking club I see him on Facebook a lot they're hiking, climbing the mountains so he must be in pretty good shape but continue to pray for him and all of his family and all of the folks that are on our prayer list if you have a prayer request and you have a well I'm sure you could do it on the phone send that prayer request to brighterdaybaptistchurch.com at gmail.com I'll give you that again brighterdaybaptistchurch.com at gmail.com tell us the you know the name and you want to put it on the prayer list and we will continue to pray for uh the united states of america pray for revival pray for every church that is is a church that belongs to the lord jesus christ and pray for every call every man that's been called of God to preach the gospel. I pray that they will get in the pulpit and stand being filled with the power of God like they did at Pentecost. The old saying, let's pray that God will give them a backbone like a saw log and they will stand and proclaim, thus saith the Lord, whether you like it or not. This is what he says. We need that. Our churches, folks are dying. I'm not a pessimist. I am a realist. I understand and see what is going on. We certainly need to pray for all of our people, all of our leaders, President, the Senate, the Congress, the Supreme Court, governors, mayors, ever elected official. We need to pray for America full of sin and pray that God will deliver us out of all of this. Give us strength and pray for Great Britain. I think a great and mighty woman this week, just a few days ago, passed on, Queen Elizabeth II. She had this testimony that she loved God and she was a stern hand during all of this. If you watch any of it, you'll see it. She stood. I don't really know how the royal family works with the parliament and the prime minister, but pray for that. Pray for them. Pray for all of them. Pray for the new king, King Charles, I think. We need to pray and lift them up. Pray for one another. Pray for one another. All right. Let's pray. Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, I bow before you this day, first of all, to come to you with a most thankful heart. I thank you, O God, for every blessing of life. And I recognize, I say it emphatically to all the world that's listening. It came from your hand. It came all these mighty benefits. And that's what it's called. Daily he loadeth us up with benefits, great benefits. Thank you, God. Thank you, Lord God Almighty. God in the Holy Trinity. Almighty God, the Father, Jehovah. Almighty God, the Son, Jesus Christ. Almighty God, the Holy Spirit. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I bring all of these objects of prayer before you this day, Lord Jesus. And I'm humbly praying and asking that whatever the situation is in their lives, Lord, I know that you can heal. You can do anything that you want. and we pray asking according to your will. Everyone that's watching and listening, I pray, Lord, there's people I know that are hurting. There's people that's sick. There's people that have situations in their life. And I pray, oh God, that you will touch them and help them and strengthen them and that every one of us will look unto you. Father, I pray that you will continue to bless and prosper. Pray for our son, Preacher Eric, that he will preach and he does. He preaches. Preach the word. The Bible said, preach the word. Be instant in season and out of season. And I pray for all of our family all of our family, our children, our four children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren and son-in-law and daughter-in-laws and nephews and nieces and cousins and aunts and uncles and everyone else. I pray for everyone. Oh God, I pray that you will take this message which I am about to present and touch the hearts and lives of people. Lord help people to realize get their eyes open and understand that you you and only you can turn the lives of people around thank you oh God we pray for every nation especially America that's in turmoil and chaos I pray that people will get on their knees and cry out to you on behalf of the United States of America. Pray for Great Britain and all the others. Pray for the people in Ukraine. Lord, may your will be done. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. In Jesus' name, I humbly pray. Amen and amen. Hallelujah. Amen. Alright, I'm going to read just a couple of verses and then I want to this is found in the book of John, St. John chapter 3 St. John chapter 2 chapter 2 verse 20 starting with verse 23 now when he that's speaking of Jesus Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover and the feast day, many, many believed in his name when they saw the miracles which he did. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them because he knew all men. Verse 25. And needed not that any should testify of man, for he knew what was in man. Man and woman, boy and girl. He knows. He knows what's in you. Well, first of all, I will tell you, all of you, all of us, there's a sinful nature. we inherited that from Adam and Eve in our DNA we're sinners well I do this I do that I ain't done this but the only thing that matters is what have you done about Jesus Christ what have you done have you accepted the free gift Jesus came born of a virgin had no sinful blood in his body was here on this earth for about 33 and a half years And I have no idea how many miracles that Jesus brought about. Couldn't be written down. And you read a lot of times he'd go into a town or something and the Bible says they brought all the sick. Everybody that was sick and the Bible says and he healed them, everyone. So he went about doing good. Then he went to the cross. I know what happened. I'm very familiar with it and the false trial and everything. Yes, but Jesus came for that purpose. He came to die for us and he laid down on the cross. He laid his life down on the cross and he said, no man takes my life. I lay it down. He laid down on the cross and he was beaten and spit upon. They plucked out his beard and his hair and the Bible said that his vision, just to look at him, He didn't even look like a human being. But he'd done it all for you. For you. Because this is what had to be done. Man sinned. And to be forgiven. The sin debt had to be paid. Jesus paid the sin debt for everyone. For you and you and you and you. Wherever you're at. He paid him. It's been paid. But you have to accept the free gift of salvation. That's it. What have you done with Jesus? Now, I want to, I'm going to use quite a few verses here. And this, of course, applies to Christians. But I hope if you are a Christian, or if you're not a Christian, excuse me, And you hear this, it will show you what is available to Christians. So I'm going to read quite a few verses and we'll move along and expound on these. That to every one of you, please listen, to every one of you, you are a Christian. You have been born again. God's hand of protection is there upon you and is available for you. So I'm going to give you some verses about God's protection. You know, as I said, we live in perilous times and there's all kinds of things to fear. And you see this and the stock market's falling and all your money's going to be gone. And they're going to take everything that you have. and you hear it and you hear it and you hear it and you hear it until you just get sick of hearing it. Well, hear what the saith the Lord. Proverbs chapter 18, verse 10. The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous runneth into it and is safe. When you are in trouble, listen, do it. do it. Just do it. What are you waiting on? Just do it. Run to Jesus. There's a song, I must tell Jesus. Oh, I must tell Jesus. I cannot bear these burdens alone. Jesus can help me. And Jesus alone or something to that effect. So run. Do it. you may be a Christian, but you say, well, I certainly have not lived a Christian life. I'm a backslider. Then get up and come to Jesus and confess it. Jesus does not stand here with a big stick and say, well, you turned out about the way I thought you would. No, that's what the devil would have you to believe. It is come home, come home, but do it now. Why will you wait? Why do you put it off? Run to Jesus. It says, the name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous runneth into it and is safe. Run. Get on your knees if you can. If you can't, bow your head and your heart. So, God, forgive me of my sins and help me. Now, in the book of Job, we know about Job, what all he went through. Book of Job, chapter 5, verse 22. At destruction and famine, thou or you shall life. Neither shall thou, I'm going to put it in here, if you don't understand the King James Version. Neither shall thou or you be afraid of the beast of the earth. You don't have to be afraid. You know, fear, fear is one of the worst things that can set in upon people. Fear. And the sad part about what people have in their mind about fear never happens. it's just something that you put in there or the devil puts in there and tries it's all based upon fear fear perfect love casteth out all fear and I know I know look it's time to be honest if you want help there is help there's help Truly help in the Lord Jesus Christ. And it's yours if you want it. Now, moving along quickly. Again, in the book of Job, chapter 11, verse 18 and 19. Verse 18. And thou, or you, shall be secure. Because there is hope. Listen. There is hope. yea thou shalt dig about thee and thou shalt take thy rest and safety verse 19 also thou are you shall lie down and none shall make thee afraid yea many shall make suit unto thee and try to say hey you know it's so many thoughts that are coming into your mind and we see it we see it it's like something that's flashing all the time. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. They say stop. Hold it. Everybody be quiet. And listen to what thus saith the Lord. He says, come unto me. Come unto me. Not, come unto me. That's not it. But he's not a wimp. My word. He's the King and Lord of glory. But he deals with us as children. If you're a Christian, you accepted Christ and you're a Christian, he deals with us as children because we are his children. Come unto me. Come here. I will give you help. Thank God for that. All right. Very quickly. Psalm 121, verses 7 and 8. Verse 7. The Lord shall preserve thee, or you, the Lord shall preserve you from all evil. He shall preserve your soul, thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil. He shall preserve thy soul. Verse 8. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and even forevermore. You come in. You go out, wherever you're at, the Lord, the Holy Spirit is in you. And he said, I will preserve you. That word preserve means take care of. People used to, I remember my mother making preserves and putting up different vegetables, pickles and all kinds of things. And they put it in something and I don't know exactly how they'd done it, but it preserved it. It took care of it. and he said, I will preserve you. I will take care of you. Proverbs 3, verse 24. When thou liest down, when you lie down, you shall not be afraid. Yea, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet. How many people? How many people? just in America can't sleep cannot sleep I've read several articles I've seen articles down through the past few years talking about people going to the urgent care, emergency room or doctor visits I forget but it was an overwhelming number of those visits when they come right down to it. It had to do with stress and anxiety and worry and couldn't sleep. Couldn't sleep. Well, I'll read it very quickly. When you lie down, you shall not be afraid Yea you shall lie down and your sleep shall be sweet Thank God Almighty Thank God Almighty And he has the power to back it up. 1 Peter 3, verse 13. And who is he that will harm you if you be followers of that which is good? You know, the hand of God watches over us. Oh, the mighty hand of God that can do anything. And listen, please don't ever forget this. Although you don't see it, although no one sees it, God is always working in your life. Because you see, God is omniscient. That means he knows everything. He knows everything. He knows everything about you. He knows everything that's going on in your life. He knows how it started. He knows how it is in the middle. And he knows how it's going to turn out. And he is in the background working for your good. Oh, it's all through the Bible. I don't have the time. But don't ever forget. Listen, we serve a true and a living God. And he said it. Do you believe it? Yes, I believe it. It's the word of God. All right. Deuteronomy chapter 33. Excuse me. Deuteronomy chapter 33, verse 12. The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety. The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him. And the Lord shall cover him all the day long. And he shall dwell between his shoulders. You're right there. He's got you right up here. Yeah. Covered. Taken care of. Oh, my, my. The mighty hand of God. Psalm 112, verse 7. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings. His heart is fixed. Trusting in the Lord. He shall not be afraid. Every time the phone rings, is it going to be something bad or somebody knocks at the door? Is it going to be something bad? That's what he's saying right here. He shall not be afraid of something bad happening. His heart is fixed. I'm going to ask you this very quickly. Is your heart fixed? If you have never asked Jesus Christ to come into your life, then your heart's not fixed. Only he can fix it. He'll give you a new heart. You need to trust him. Psalm 91. This is a you should read Psalm 91 at least once a week. Verse nine and 10, because you have made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most high, thy habitation. Listen, verse 10, there shall no evil befall you or come upon you. Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. No plague is going to come to your house. plagues drought all kind of pestilence troubles everything trust in the Lord then is Isaiah chapter 43 verses 1 and 2 but now thus saith the Lord that created thee God created you I hope you know that O Jacob and he that formed you O Israel fear not For I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine. And this applies to us as Christians. Verse 2. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. That's troubling waters. When you're all kind of trouble around. When you're in that, he said, I will be with you. And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon you. God is with us because God loves us. We belong to him. Yeah, we're going to go through some trials, but this is not what he's talking about. But even then, the Bible said God would not allow more to be put up on us than we could handle, so to speak. So he's with us. Ezekiel chapter 34, verse 28. And they shall no more be a prey, P-R-E-Y, to the heathen, neither shall the beasts of the land devour them. But they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid. All through these verses, we're seeing this word, afraid. fear fear talking about the last days and men's hearts shall fail them for fear of what is coming upon them fear oh listen Jesus can fix it but you've got to call upon him. You've got to call on him. And you need to do it now. You need to do it now. I'm going to get a few more verses and I'm going to close this message. But Proverbs 1 and 33. But whoso hearkeneth or listens, but whoever listens unto me shall dwell safely and shall be quiet from fear of evil. There we see that word again. Fear. Fear. Fear of everything. Perfect love casts out all fear. In the book of Psalm, fourth Psalm, verse 8. I will both lay me down in peace and sleep. for thou or for you Lord only makest me dwell in safety safety safety I will I'll help you I'll cover you I'll protect you no one's going to do this you will dwell safely now this is the last verse I'm going to use Psalm 27 verse 1 the Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? If this sermon was about anything, it was about fear and how to be delivered from fear. Fear! Fear. Oh, listen. It runs through your mind and it's an addiction. The Lord is my light. And my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength. Of my life. Of whom. Shall I. Be afraid. Listen. This was just. Some promises. In the Bible. The Bible is full of promises. And it. It's only. To born again Christians. But if you're not a born again Christian. It's your fault. Because. maybe you haven't ever heard the gospel or maybe you've heard it and said well i will i will i will later no the bible said behold today is the day of salvation today is the day that you need to get this taken care of today is the day that you need to just like i said if you can bow on your knees if you can't bow your heart and say oh god you can pray a prayer something like this if You don't know how to pray. Oh, Lord Jesus, I'm a sinner. I was born a sinner. And then when I became old and knew what, or when I grew up and I knew right from wrong, I chose sin. I'm a sinner. And oh, God, please come into my life and save my soul so I won't have to go down into hell forever and ever. I heard someone had asked Billy Graham and Billy Graham I've always had high regards for him and his family I know his grandson I met him talked with him heard him preach but someone had asked Billy Graham as he got old If you had your life to live over and know what you know, is there anything you would do different? And he said, yes, this one thing I would do different. I would preach more about hell than I have. Hell is real. Hell is terrible. Hell was created for the devil and his angels. But anyone that rejects what Jesus Christ has done, all the suffering that he endured and paid the sin debt for every man. The Bible said he tasted death for every person. He died for you. And here you stand with hearing the gospel and say, here, here it is. Accept it. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your life. And those of you that are Christians, whatever, whatever you're going through, turn to Jesus Christ. Trust his word. He said it. And he cannot lie. I pray that you will do it and do it now.
